Finding Our Feet

Finding Our Feet is a Community Interest Company set up to support women with physical or mental health challenges as a result of sexual violence, domestic abuse, birth or medical trauma, or involvement with the criminal justice system.

What we do

Finding Our Feet was established to address a critical gap in existing provisions available to women. Fostering resilience, empowerment, and improved mental and physical well-being, we help women reclaim agency in their lives while relieving pressure on health and support services.

Our aim is to make holistic trauma-informed support services accessible to all women. Our low-cost and grant-funded services include Yoga Therapy, Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy, Group Therapeutic Yoga classes, and health education workshops.

Yoga Psychotherapy

Integrating Yoga Therapy with Psychotherapy for the alleviation of mental suffering.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga Philosophy and practice as a therapeutic tool for holistic healing.

Group classes

Group classes are trauma-informed, gentle and open to all levels and abilities.

Holistic

We always treat an individual’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing as a holistic whole.

Trauma-informed

Our practices prioritise emotional safety, choice, and personal empowerment.

Free or low-cost

We provide free services and low-cost grant-funded provisions to women at Rape Crises.

She Rises

Finding Our Feet CIC has been awarded a National Lottery grant for She Rises, a project that provides one-to-one and group Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy sessions for women. In collaboration with Cambridge women’s charities, She Rises aims to reach under-represented female survivors of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse who face barriers to accessing therapeutic support due to financial, cultural, or systemic inequalities.

Aims of the sessions

  1. Reduce symptoms of anxiety
  2. Improve emotional regulation skills
  3. Enhance self-awareness

Who is it for

  • Under-represented women
  • Women facing financial, systemic or cultural inequalities
  • Trauma survivors of physical, emotional and sexual abuse

“The goal is not to tie ourselves in knots. We’re already tied in knots. The aim is to untie the knots in our hearts.”
